ADHD Therapy for Adults
Alison Franklin, LCSW has spent 15 years assessing and treating adult ADHD at the Hallowell Center and in private practice. Her approach has evolved with the contemporary understanding of ADHD: once characterized as a deficit in attention, it is now viewed more broadly as a deficit in self-regulation.
Appreciating how ADHD affects relationships, work, health, mood, and self-esteem, Alison takes a holistic, personalized approach to treatment. She combines evidence-based psychotherapy with lifestyle strategies, psychoeducation, and executive functioning support. Alison adopts a “coachapist” role with her ADHD clients, combining elements of coaching and therapy to help clients regulate their internal states to meet external demands, and feel more competent.
