Integrative therapy incorporates multiple schools of psychotherapy into one approach. Other therapies are typically based on a single model which can be limiting, as not every approach resonates with every client. As an integrative therapist, Alison has the flexibility to tailor the therapy to an individual, not the other way around. Integrative therapy values the relationship between a client and therapist and sees it as another avenue for growth.

The concept of Inner Healing Intelligence is foundational to Alison’s work. It has origins in the emerging field of psychedelics. Similar to how the body intuitively knows how to heal a wound, every human being has a capacity or “intelligence” for healing itself.
This idea is applicable beyond the world of psychedelics and is consistent with other frameworks: the true self in Buddhism, the core self in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and wise mind in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). In many schools of thought, there is a principle that deep within the psyche, we are innately driven toward healing and wholeness.
